Elysees Cafe & Bakery is a new chef-owned and operated spot in Vancouver that blends French pastry techniques with Mexican flavours, focusing on fresh ingredients and careful preparation. With an onsite kitchen and dedicated pastry chef, the menu at Elysee includes freshly baked bread and a selection of pastries and light meals. Owned and operated by Chef Diego, Elysees is a sister concept of Miso Taco.

Here is what I tried at Elysee Cafe & Bakery.
For lunch, they have a Lunch Combo that pairs a sandwich with a small salad or soup. Choices include the Jambon-Beurre, featuring a crisp baguette with butter, ham, gruyère, and Dijon mustard. The Avocado and Goat Cheese sandwich combines creamy avocado, goat cheese, mixed greens, caramelized onions, and olive oil on a torta bun. The DLT layers duck confit, lettuce, sun-dried tomatoes, and capers mayonnaise on a soft torta bun.

All three sandwiches were delicious! I also tried their salad featuring a mix of fresh greens, candied hazelnuts, red onion julienne, goat cheese, and cherry tomatoes in an apple cider vinaigrette, balancing sweetness, acidity, and crunch.

The Dark Chocolate and Salted Caramel Mousse Cake with Cookie Crumble offers deep chocolate flavour with smooth caramel. The Berries and Cream Croissant features a flaky pastry filled with sweet cream and fresh berries. The Pain au Chocolat has buttery layers with melted chocolate, while the Almond Apricot Danish pairs fruit and nuts in a tender pastry.

Elysee uses coffee beans by Caffè Umbria. I enjoyed the Matcha Latte with Oat Milk and classic Latte which provided a smooth finish.

Located at 6161 Cambie St, Vancouver, BC, Elysees Cafe & Bakery creates a welcoming space where French and Mexican influences come together through carefully crafted dishes and pastries.
