Social Corner is a MICHELIN-recommended restaurant with two locations in Downtown Vancouver. The restaurant offers Italian and Spanish cuisine, including fresh pasta, pizza, tapas, paella, seafood and grilled meats.

We visited the Coal Harbour restaurant, which is the larger waterfront location with a spacious dining room, bar and extensive patio. It is open throughout the day for brunch, lunch, happy hour and dinner.

Here’s what we tried over two visits.
There was the Lobster & Crab Ravioli ($46). This was one larger raviolo filled with lobster and crab. The coconut milk reduction was creamy and a little sweet, followed by some heat from the chipotle. The piquillo peppers gave the sauce a slightly smoky flavour. There was quite a bit happening in this dish, but I could still taste the lobster and crab.

The Rigatone Bolognese ($43) was my favourite of the pasta dishes. The fresh pasta was firm, and the beef and brasato gave the sauce a deeper, slow-cooked flavour. It was quite filling too.

My kids had two Marinara Pizzas ($20 each) which were topped with San Marzano tomato sauce, confit garlic and crispy garlic. This was a simple pizza with some garlic flavour. The pizza crust was nicely thin and chewy.

I enjoyed their signature Burger ($39) which came with a thick Alberta beef patty, melted fontina, truffle aioli and Syrah caramelized onions. The patty was juicy, the onions were a little sweet and the crispy shallots added some crunch. It was big and messy, but that is part of eating a burger like this.

The Truffle Fries were crisp with a noticeable truffle flavour. We shared these around the table.

We finished with the Tiramisu ($17). The Sheringham espresso liqueur was poured tableside, which gave it a stronger coffee flavour. Underneath were creamy mascarpone and soft, well-soaked savoiardi.

For drinks, I had the zero-proof Rossa Muse with NOA Aperitivo, rosemary syrup, ginger, and Sprite.

The interior feels classy, polished but still approachable.

Overall, some great experiences dining at Social Corner and I would love to visit again.
