Loacker Survey Links Sweet Treats to Happiness in Canada

Loacker Canada has released new research exploring how everyday habits influence happiness, with findings that point to simple routines like slowing down, connecting with others, and enjoying small treats.

The survey, conducted in early 2026 among Canadian adults, aligns with insights from Dr. Gillian Mandich, a Canadian happiness researcher and author. Her perspective centres on the idea that happiness is shaped through consistent, intentional behaviours rather than major milestones. Taking time to pause, share moments with others, and engage in small comforts contributes to a more grounded sense of well-being.

Data from the study shows that 74 per cent of Canadians enjoy sweet treats, while 45 per cent say having a treat after a stressful day helps restore their mood. These behaviours reflect how food can play a role in resetting during busy routines. The findings also highlight the importance of social connection. A notable 96 per cent of respondents report that spending quality time with loved ones positively impacts their happiness, and 85 per cent say sharing a treat enhances that experience.

These insights reinforce how small rituals can influence daily life. Taking a break with a snack, sharing dessert with family, or carving out time to reconnect can support a sense of balance. The results suggest that happiness is often built through repeated, simple actions rather than one-time events.

Loacker continues to position their products within these everyday moments. Crafted in the Italian Alps, their wafers and biscuits are made using selected ingredients and traditional methods. Options such as Classic Wafer, Quadratini, and Tortina Patisserie are designed for individual enjoyment or sharing. The company notes that their products are made without preservatives and without added flavourings or colours.

The brand also emphasizes their broader approach to production, including a focus on ingredient sourcing and responsible business practices. As a family-run company with global distribution, Loacker maintains a commitment to quality while expanding their presence in markets like Canada.

The research findings arrive as Canadians continue to seek manageable ways to support their well-being. The survey suggests that incorporating small, intentional moments into daily routines, including enjoying a treat or spending time with others, can contribute to overall happiness.
