Carnaval del Sol returns to Jonathan Rogers Park from July 11 to 13 for their 17th edition, bringing three days of music, food, sport, and cultural celebration to Vancouver. Organized by Latincouver, the festival is the largest Latin American cultural event in the Pacific Northwest.

This year’s theme, Embrace Our Passion, Celebrate Together, reflects both the joy of shared cultural experiences and the growing anticipation around international soccer events coming to Vancouver in 2026. The newly added Sport Plaza will feature street soccer tournaments, skill zones, and live match screenings, alongside appearances from Latin American consulates and Canadian officials.
In partnership with Filipino BC, the festival is also introducing a shared cultural platform that includes Filipino food, vendors, and a 50/50 draw to support victims and survivors of the April Lapu-Lapu festival incident.
The event features more than 280 live performances across several themed plazas:
Main Stage – Plaza del Sol
Live music spans salsa, samba, Latin pop, reggae, and rock en Español. Featured performers include Boogát, The Meni Axe Band, Lussilia, Caleb Hart, Entangados, and Vancouver’s own Tren al Sur.
Sport Plaza
A full-scale soccer experience with fan zones, mini-tournaments, and national showcases.
SHE LATINA Plaza
Dedicated to women creatives and entrepreneurs, this plaza includes markets, wellness workshops, and storytelling events.
Family, Kids, and Seniors Plazas
Interactive cultural activities for all ages, including traditional music, crafts, dance, Latin games, and arts sessions. The Chiquitzin Kids Plaza offers hands-on learning for children through Latin traditions.
Food Plaza
Over 20 vendors will serve tacos, pupusas, ceviche, Cuban-style rotisserie pig, and more—representing over a dozen countries across Latin America.
Beer Plaza
Music from DJs 2 Monkeys, Vibras, and Mujeres fuels nightly dance parties, with cold brews from Granville Island Beer and Sol.
