Ramen Taka in Richmond’s Aberdeen Centre serves authentic Asahikawa-style ramen from Hokkaido, marking the brand’s first overseas branch. Their signature golden broth is clear, umami-rich, and balanced, made by simmering pork bones, vegetables, and dried fish for hours. The noodles are eggless and have a firm, springy bite.

We tried the Original Shoyu Ramen, created in honour of founder Hideki Sasaki, featuring chashu, marinated egg, green onions, bamboo shoots, and nori.

The Shrimp Ramen came with a miso base, shrimp tempura, and a whole shrimp for a hint of sweetness.

The Gyoza were crisp and juicy, the Takoyaki soft with tender octopus, and the Kid’s Ramen set included fries and a small toy.

A cold Sapporo Beer and Melon Cream Soda accompanied our meal.

Ramen Taka is located at Aberdeen Centre, 4151 Hazelbridge Way, Unit 2780, Richmond BC
