Los Cuervos Taqueria & Cantina is a longstanding Mexican restaurant in Vancouver’s Fraserhood known for their casual atmosphere and regional Mexican cuisine. The menu features a selection of tacos, burritos, quesadillas, tostadas with fillings like Al Pastor, Carnitas, Pescado, Camarón, and more. The drinks menu includes a solid list of cocktails, mezcal, and tequila. On weekends, they serve a Mexican-style brunch.
We tried their brunch menu and here are a few highlights.
Starting with the Chilaquiles, this classic Mexican breakfast dish includes corn tortilla chips topped with housemade salsa roja or verde, feta cheese, sour cream, cilantro, avocado, and a sunny-side-up egg. The mix of textures was satisfying.

We went with a trio of tacos: Al Pastor with charbroiled pork in pineapple adobo; Pescado with crispy battered cod; and Camarón with battered prawns. Each taco was generous in portion and filling on its own.

We also had the Chips, Salsa, and Guacamole. The guac was creamy and fresh, while the salsa brought a bright, tangy heat that paired nicely with the crispy chips.

For dessert, the house-made Churros were crisp and golden, coated with sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg, and served with a thick caramel-like sauce.

The space has a relaxed, neighbourhood vibe with a colourful interior, bar seating, and a covered patio. Service is friendly and efficient, making it a comfortable spot for both a quick bite and a casual night out.
Los Cuervos is located at 603 Kingsway in Vancouver.
