I had stopped into Hy’s Steakhouse & Cocktail Bar in Downtown Vancouver for a quick bite between events. Here’s a quick recap of what I tried.

Hy’s Cheese Toast has been on the menu since 1955—and it’s an easy pick! Thick-cut bread is loaded with their signature cheese blend, then broiled until the top turns golden and bubbly. The edges are crisp, the centre stays soft, and the flavour is rich and savoury.

I also had the Beef Tenderloin Carpaccio, topped with baby arugula and crispy grana padano. Light and delicate with just enough texture from the cheese.

The Filet Mignon came out medium rare with a great sear. Juicy, tender, and seasoned just right.
