The Vancouver Chinatown Lunar New Year Parade carried a bright, uplifting energy and being part of the procession made the experience feel more meaningful. Walking the route alongside the steady rhythm of drums and the movement of lion dances, there was a strong sense of connection between tradition and community.

Crowds lined the streets as families and friends gathered, smiling, waving, and sharing in the moment together. The energy moved between those in the parade and those watching, creating a sense of celebration that felt collective and alive.
I was in the parade as part of Chau Luen Athletics are here are some captures from within the procession.

The parade felt joyful and hopeful, serving as a reminder of how these traditions continue to bring the community together at the start of a new lunar year.
