Fat Choi Chicken is a ghost kitchen concept at MOD Kitchen in Richmond offering Asian style fried chicken, chicken sandwiches, wings and family combos.
We tried three selections from their Dip It menu: the 7-Inch Crispy Chicken Fillet, Chicken Tenders and Popcorn Chicken, along with all four signature sauces. Each chicken order includes one sauce.
Priced at $16.99, the 7-Inch Crispy Chicken Fillet was a large, single piece with a golden coating.
The Crispy Chicken Tenders were $14.99 for four pieces. These were substantial strips, with white meat visible where we cut one open. We spooned Sriracha Mayo and Special Pickle Mayo over one tender to try the two together.
The Crispy Pop Chicken was $15.99 and came piled into a takeaway box. The smaller pieces were easy to share alongside the fillet and tenders.
The sauces give you a few ways to change the flavour of the chicken. House Special Sriracha is sweet and spicy, while Honey Mustard is sweet and tangy. Sriracha Mayo is their creamy, spicy option, and Special Pickle Mayo offers a tangy alternative.
The Dip It format lets you try the chicken with different sauces throughout the meal. The fillet and tenders offer larger pieces, while the Popcorn Chicken is an option for sharing and dipping individually.
Aside from these, their sandwich menu includes the Extra Crispy Chicken Sandwich, Double Crispy Chicken Sandwich, Teddy Bear Chicken Sandwich and Meat Lover Chicken Sandwich.
Other offerings include Crispy Chicken in Original or Spicy, six-piece Crispy Chicken Wings, three-piece Chicken Tenders, Golden Popcorn Chicken and a Crispy Fried Whole Bone-in Chicken Leg. The Teddy Bowl comes with boneless chicken chunks, mayonnaise, pork floss and seaweed.
For a smaller meal, the Fat Choi Combo is $12.99 and includes one piece of fried chicken, fries and a drink. Value Combos are also available with sandwiches, wings, tenders and popcorn chicken.
Family Combos are $61.99 for two to three people, $81.99 for four to six people and $105.99 for six to eight people. The menu notes approximately 30 minutes of preparation time for these orders.
