We tried the “Rice Meets Patty” Bowl Set featuring a tender and juicy Japanese-style hambagu served over perfectly cooked rice, paired with a choice of Ponzu or Teriyaki sauce. The Ponzu added a bright citrusy tang, while the Teriyaki brings a classic savoury sweetness.

The Ebi High Dive Don Set was a comforting combination of crispy panko-breaded prawns soaked in egg, onion, and soy sauce. The prawns retained their crunch while blending beautifully with the savoury sauce and fluffy rice.

The Teishoku sets came with appetizers that deliver on both flavour and texture. The Garlic Butter Edamame had a subtle garlic aroma. The Tenkasu Wafu Salad had a light, tangy dressing while the Crispy Fusion Bombs had a golden-fried exterior and creamy, savoury filling. The Meatball Marvel offered a surprising twist with its rich tomato sauce, reminiscent of a comforting pasta dish.

Taster Tapas options like Takoyaki delivered a tender octopus filling while the Chicken Skin Cracklin’s were crisp and flavourful, making them ideal for snacking.

For dessert, the Crispy Masago Arare Ice Cream Mochi balanced creamy ice cream with the crispy texture of arare, and the Ube Dream Cupcake provided a soft, flavourful finish with its vibrant ube taste.

The oversized drinks were also worth trying! The Hokkaido Milk Tea was rich and velvety, while the panna cotta udon toppings added a fun textural contrast. The Yuzu Pine Breeze, with its pineapple, lime, and sencha green tea blend, was light and zesty, while the Blue Hawaiian Fruity Lemonade, with raspberry syrup and fresh blueberries, was visually appealing and delicious.

I thought that Yuu Japanese Tapas presented a thoughtfully curated menu for Dine Out Vancouver, making it a great option for those seeking quality Japanese dishes at a reasonable price.
