There is something about the crisp Fraser Valley air and the first sight of a tulip popping through the soil that just feels like a fresh start. If you’re looking for the ultimate way to shake off the winter blues, mark your calendars: Greendale Acres officially opens for the 2026 season on Friday, March 27th!

Known for their iconic corn maze in the fall, Greendale Acres (41905 Yale Road West in Chilliwack) transforms into a floral wonderland every spring. Whether you’re chasing toddlers through an Easter egg hunt or admiring vintage tractors, the Sweet Spring celebration is the place to be this April.
What’s New at the Farm This Year?
The Bruinsma family has been busy over the winter, and they’ve added some fantastic new features for 2026:
- The Greendale Acres Farm Shop: Housed in a charming new farmhouse, you can pick up farm-fresh eggs, jarred honey, and local artisanal goods. Pro tip: Visit during opening weekend (March 27th–29th) to get 25% off Greendale Acres branded products!
- The Pollinator Walk: A new interactive “punch station” trail that teaches kids the importance of bees.
- Greendale Express Audio Tour: Take a train ride through the fields while listening to fun facts about the farm’s history and agriculture.
- Baby Animal Feeding: Join the Animal Care Team for scheduled feeding times—perfect for the little ones who want a closer look at the farm’s newest residents.
Events You Don’t Want to Miss
1. The Easter Egg Hunt
Dates: March 27–29 & April 2–5
This isn’t your average backyard hunt. Kids can explore the apple orchard to find eggs and trade them in for a special teddy prize. Between the Easter Bunny photos, face painting, and the “Easter Bunny Adventure Course,” it’s a full day of “egg-citement.”
2. 104th Annual Chilliwack Plowing Match & Tractor Day
Dates: April 11 (Plowing Match) & April 12 (Tractor Day)
Step back in time and celebrate Chilliwack’s deep agricultural roots. Start Saturday with a Pancake Breakfast (by donation to Bowls of Hope) and stay for the blacksmith demos and live music by the Petersen Duo. Sunday is all about the machinery, where “young at heart” tractor enthusiasts can get up close to vintage and modern farm equipment.
3. Grandparents’ & Princess/Superhero Days
Dates: April 24 (Grandparents) & April 25 (Princess/Superhero)
On Friday the 24th, grandparents get in free! It’s a beautiful day to stroll through the tulip and daffodil gardens with the grandkids. On Saturday, keep the magic alive with appearances by Princess Elsa (10:30 a.m. – Noon) and Spiderman & Spider-Gwen (2:30 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.).
