Head Chef Alan Older gives seafood aficionados plenty of good reasons to get out and enjoy fresh catches for lunch on Smitty’s patio courtesy of signature creations like Oysters Michelado, Kale and Radicchio Caesar Salad with Prawns, Smitty’s Spicy Salmon Bowl, a Fried Oyster Sandwich, Chorizo and Clams, and more.

The full Smitty’s Oyster House on Main Street Lunch Menu is available Tuesdays through Fridays from noon to 3 p.m. and features:

  • Oysters Michelado (6) (Clamato, beer, tequila, cilantro, serrano, Tajin rim);
  • Smitty’s Signature New England Style ‘Chowda’;
  • Prawn and Scallop Aguachile (carrot habanero sauce, cucumber, red onion, radish, avocado);
  • Chicken Arms (one pound of meaty wings tossed in choice of signature ‘She Can’, ‘HCC’ or ‘Boys Don’t Cry’ sauces);
  • Salt Spring Island Mussels (white wine, lemon thyme butter, served with fries);
  • Chorizo and Clams (house-made chorizo, white wine, shallots, lemon);
  • Kale And Radicchio Caesar (miso dressing, Grana Padano, pangrattato, optional add prawn skewer);
  • Smitty’s Spicy Salmon Bowl (Sockeye salmon, rice, cucumber, carrots, avocado, radish, edamame, sesame, Gochujang mayo);
  • Halibut Fritters (topped with malt vinegar reduction, served with fries);
  • Shrimp and Lobster Roll (tarragon mayo, celery, pickled onions, served with fries, sub salad or chowda option);
  • Fried Oyster Sandwich (tartar, iceberg, pickled onions, brioche bun, served with fries, sub salad or chowda option);
  • Burger (5oz brisket and chuck patty, Dijon aioli, red onion jam, smoked Gouda, bacon, onion ring, brioche bun, served with fries, sub salad or chowda option).

Seasonal thirst traps abound at Smitty’s bar, with GM and Bar Manager Nicky Annable and the team shaking up lip-smacking summer libations like the Classic Margarita, Cucumber Gin Smash, Moscow Mule and Aperol Spritz, as well as ice-cold pints of BC craft brews like Steamworks’ Fuzzy Peach Gummy Sour and Bridge Brewing’s Tropical Mango and Pineapple PrimeTime.

Wine lovers can also savour warm summer nights on Smitty’s patio with a range of by-the-glass and -bottle selections such as Road 13 Honest John’s Rosé (BC), William Fèvre Petit-Chablis (FR), La Crema Chardonnay(USA) and Montalto Sicilia Pinot Grigio (IT).
