Portobello is the casual restaurant of the Fairmont Whistler serving made-to-order sandwiches, pastries, espresso-based drinks, and a smokehouse menu.
You stand in line to order like in a cafeteria, and the food is assembled in front of you. Pay at the counter as well.
We got the Roast Turkey BLT (provolone, bacon, lettuce, tomato, garlic aioli, cranberry sauce) on cranberry sourdough) and the Perfectly Perfect Porchetta (sour cherry and sage mayo) on baguette. The meats were flavourful and tender. The crackling skin of the porchetta was just right.
We sat outside on the patio but the restaurant inside has a rustic, alpine type of atmosphere.
