Parq Vancouver Marks Sixth Anniversary Milestone with Lion Dance, Cake Cutting, Prize Draws on September 29

Parq Vancouver is celebrating six years as one of Canada’s premier casino and entertainment destinations by hosting an anniversary party this Friday, September 29 at the downtown Vancouver casino resort (39 Smithe Street).

Parq will mark the milestone with a Lion Dance that will start in the main lobby and wind its way up through the casino floors at 4:30 p.m., just prior to a ceremony that will see a massive 35”x75” anniversary cake cut and served up to approximately 500 people starting at 5 p.m.

Balloons and eye-catching anniversary décor will be displayed throughout the casino, and the festivities will culminate in an Anniversary Midnight Draw at 11:59 p.m. that will award three lucky winners $600 each, with Encore Rewards members able to redeem one ballot for free.

Beyond the party, Parq is also taking the occasion as an opportunity to reflect on and reaffirm its ongoing commitment to the community at large, as well as environmental initiatives that have been a focus since day one.

In the past six years, Parq has purchased more than $16 million of goods and services from Vancouver businesses and vendors and supported more than 180 charities and non-profits by providing 5,700+ meals for at-risk individuals and families and 3,000+ pounds of produce for food insecurity programs in the city.

Last October, the Canada Green Building Council (CAGBC) bestowed Parq with a coveted Gold Certification under the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED®) Canada Rating System for New Construction and Major Renovations after the complex successfully completed an independent, third-party verification as part of the LEED® certification process.

Parq Vancouver was one of only five developments in BC to be conferred with the LEED® Gold Certification in 2022.

Parq was built using as many materials indigenous to Vancouver and BC as possible, such as North Shore rock indoors and out and Douglas fir and pine trees in its green spaces that have helped offsetmore than 38,000 pounds of CO2.

Its focus on green initiatives was a conscious effort to align with the City of Vancouver’s Greenest City 2020 Action Plan, which addresses sustainable design, access to nature, green mobility, rainwater management, zero waste planning and low carbon energy supply.

Parq Vancouver casino also continues to set the standard for best practices when it comes to responsible gambling, with the casino consistently earning top-five rankings in Canada and internationally.

Currently, Parq holds the #1 rank in Canada and #2 rank internationally.

In addition to offering world-class casino gaming, Parq Vancouver is home to two luxury hotel properties — The JW Marriott and The DOUGLAS Autograph Collection — as well as The Spa by JW and numerous restaurants and amenities.
