Metropolis at Metrotown is marking Mother’s Day with an activation until May 19, blending retail, design, and a family-friendly indoor glamping concept in collaboration with Decathlon. This seasonal installation, titled We Love Moms & Mother Nature, is taking place inside the Grand Court and features decor and experiences inspired by the outdoors.

The Grand Court has been converted into a large-scale glampsite designed by Vancouver-based studio Lazy Wizard. The space includes a tiki bar, tented bedroom setup, mock beach games area, camp kitchen, and a central faux campfire. On April 26 and May 3, marshmallow roasting will be available near the fire pit, paired with nature-themed games.

Visitors will enter through a large inflatable tree and walk through a display of forest and mountain visuals, accented by string-lit trees and a suspended hot air balloon installation. The environment is designed to feel like a light-hearted tribute to nature while remaining fully indoors.

A midday ticketed event on May 10 adds a celebratory note to the programming. The Mother’s Day Party runs from noon to 2pm and includes wine and cocktails, light canapés, a photo station, s’mores, kids’ crafts, and a door prize draw. Each adult guest receives a gift bag that includes a $20 Met gift card. Proceeds from ticket sales support the Burnaby Family Life Women Driving Their Future program. Tickets are priced at $40 for adults and $5 for children aged 5–15. Children under 5 attend for free.

From April 24, guests who spend $200 or more before tax receive a $20 reward card. For each redemption, Metropolis at Metrotown will contribute $5 to the Burnaby Fire Department, up to $5,000.
