Miele Canada returned to the Interior Design Show (IDS) in Vancouver, which took place from September 26 to 29, 2024. As the official Presenting Sponsor, Miele continued its tradition of innovation, celebrating 125 years of providing premium home appliances worldwide. This year’s show introduced several exciting new products and design concepts, making it a standout event for those interested in home design and technology.
Matte Black Appliances Made Their West Coast Debut
For the first time on the West Coast, Miele unveiled its all-new Matte Black appliances. These appliances were crafted with full-surface glass and integrated displays, specifically designed to complement sleek, handleless kitchen designs. These elegant additions reflect Miele’s commitment to merging advanced technology with modern aesthetics, offering a refined touch to contemporary kitchens.

In addition to the Matte Black series, Miele showcased its striking VitroLine appliances in Obsidian Black. Both collections demonstrat Miele’s focus on innovation and design, presenting stylish solutions that maintained high functionality.
Innovative Cooking and Care Products on Display
At the Miele booth, guests explored a diverse range of appliances designed to elevate the kitchen and home experience. Featured products included Miele’s convection and combi-steam ovens, coffee machines, and vacuum sealing and warming drawers. These appliances highlight Miele’s attention to detail, offering advanced tools for meal preparation and preservation.
Visitors also saw Miele’s MasterCool refrigeration appliances and the latest W1 and T1 laundry machines, alongside their well-known floorcare products. Miele’s Cleaning and Care products were also demonstrated, providing guests with a comprehensive look at the brand’s offerings.
Throughout the show, Miele’s Executive Chef led culinary demonstrations, showcasing the capabilities of Miele’s cooking appliances. These demonstrations allowed attendees to witness the innovation and craftsmanship that set Miele apart from other brands.
Michael London Presented His Vision for the Future Kitchen
Designer Michael London was on-site to debut his vision for the future of kitchen design. Inspired by the vibrant cafes and courtyards of Milan, London introduced four unique kitchen concepts catering to different styles and budgets. His designs embodied an understated elegance, incorporating inlay metals, soft woods, and harmonizing colours to create a sophisticated atmosphere.

London’s work demonstrated the versatility of Miele appliances, which blended seamlessly into various kitchen styles while maintaining their advanced functionality. His designs stood out at this year’s IDS, showcasing how Miele appliances could elevate both traditional and modern spaces.
Miele Celebrates 125 Years of Innovation
This year marks Miele’s 125th anniversary, a significant milestone in the brand’s history. Founded in 1899, the company began with the production of a cream separator and grew into a global leader in home appliances, employing over 22,000 people across 49 countries.
Miele’s legacy of innovation is evident throughout its history. The brand produced Europe’s first electric dishwasher in 1929 and introduced the world’s first built-in steam cooker in the 1990s.
