Knorr Canada has released a new survey showing that cooking is a strong attraction factor for singles. According to the findings, 79% of Canadians aged 18 to 35 are more likely to connect with someone on a dating app if they can cook or have an interest in cooking.

To celebrate this, Knorr Canada is launching #UnlockYourGreenFlag, a campaign encouraging singles to showcase their cooking skills as a dating advantage. Partnering with former Big Brother Canada contestant Moose Bendago, the initiative explores tips and insights on cooking and dating.
The survey found that 62% of singles have cooked a meal to impress a romantic interest, while 26% have learned to cook for the same reason. Being able to cook is linked to independence, care, and the ability to provide for others. On the other hand, bland food, overcooked pasta, and microwave-ready meals were named as major turn-offs.
Those interested in joining the campaign can follow along on Knorr Canada’s Instagram or try a romantic recipe from Knorr Canada’s recipe page. Survey respondents ranked steak as the most attractive homemade meal.
