August brings a varied lineup of food events and dining experiences to Metro Vancouver and the surrounding region. The month includes Pride brunches, restaurant specials, limited-time tasting menus, culinary camps, grand openings, and seasonal festivals celebrating local ingredients.

DD Mau Chinatown x Chupito Feast & Friends, August 23

DD Mau Chinatown is bringing back their Feast & Friends dinner series on August 23 with a Mexican-Vietnamese collaboration featuring Chef Maria Ponce of Chupito Cocteleria and DD Mau Chef Tyler Hoang. The menu will bring together flavours and ideas from both cuisines, with cocktails by Chupito bartenders Tara Davies and Erick Vazquez using repurposed kitchen ingredients such as herb stems, spent coffee and house-made fish sauce. Tickets are $98++ per person with a minimum of two guests per booking, and seatings are available at 5 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. at DD Mau Chinatown.

Provence Marinaside Tomato Festival

Provence Marinaside has brought back their annual Tomato Festival throughout August with a three-course prix fixe menu for $69 featuring local heirloom tomatoes. Dishes include Heirloom Tomato and Burrata Salad, Heirloom Tomato Tartare with Tuna Tonnato, Mediterranean Seabass with Heirloom Tomato Chutney, and Pistachio and Sundried Tomato-Crusted Ling Cod, followed by a Strawberry Entremet for dessert. An optional rosé wine pairing is available for $59.

Tequila Thursdays at The Greek, Every Thursday

The Greek has launched Tequila Thursdays, with tequila cocktails, discounted Hornitos shots and DJs at their Yaletown and Gastown locations every Thursday. Guests can get $3 off three featured drinks, including the mojito-inspired Ananás Louloudáto with Hornitos Pineapple, the El Caesar Hornitos Cucumber Habanero Caesar, and the Paloma-style Peristéri made with Hornitos Plata. Hornitos shots are also $2 off.

CoCo Bubble Tea August Pina Colada Smoothie Promotion

CoCo Bubble Tea is featuring their Pina Colada Smoothie throughout August, with 15% off at participating Greater Vancouver locations from August 1 to 31. The large smoothie is $7.14, regularly $8.40, and combines a pineapple slush with a creamy base. CoCo is also running their Happy Tuesday Refresh promotion every Tuesday, with Buy One, Get One 50% off selected large drinks including Taro Slush, Bubble Gaga, 3 Guys, Honeydew Jasmine Milk Tea with Tea Jelly, Brown Sugar Pearl Matcha Smoothie with Macchiato, and Mango Green Tea.

Fanny Bay Oyster Bar and Holy Duck Chili Collaboration

Fanny Bay Oyster Bar & Shellfish Market is teaming up with Vancouver condiment company Holy Duck Chili for a limited-time menu available through August 3.

Created by Head Chef Alex Guido, the collaboration features Holy Duck chili oils and seasonings across several seafood dishes. Menu items include the SumSum Caesar, Baked Mussels with Salted Egg Yolk Lava chili oil, Grilled Oyster Skewers with duck fat-infused seasoning aioli, and Blackened Scallops with ginger and mango purée.

The brands will also host an Instagram giveaway featuring a Holy Duck Chili Oil Party Pack and a $100 Fanny Bay gift card.

Priced at $40, the package includes two regular burritos, two Jarritos drinks, and a limited-edition Summer Carry Box designed for easy takeout to the beach, a picnic, the seawall, a concert, or a road trip.

The promotion launched on July 27 and is available for a limited time. Tacofino operates several Lower Mainland restaurants and food trucks, with current locations listed on their website.

Honey Salt Pride Brunch

Honey Salt is celebrating Vancouver Pride Weekend with a colourful brunch on August 1 and 2.

The meal begins with a tiered spread of devilled eggs, smoked salmon blinis, fruit, chocolate-dipped croissants, lemon tartlets, and Pride confetti cake. Guests can then choose from avocado toast, eggs Benedict, grilled chicken Cobb salad, or Pacific rockfish fish and chips. A build-your-own mimosa cart will be available with several juice options.

Chilliwack Corn Festival at Greendale Acres

The Chilliwack Corn Festival returns to Greendale Acres for two weekends of roasted corn, live music, contests, and family activities.

Admission includes corn-shucking and corn-eating contests, along with daily face painting from noon to 2 p.m. Live performers include the Petersen Duo, Johnny Bootleg Trio, Ryan McAllister, Desiree Walde and the Backroad Revival Band, and Josh Petersen.

Fable Kitchen Desert-Inspired Tasting Menu

Fable Kitchen is serving a three-course menu inspired by the Sonoran Desert, Northern Mexico, and the American Southwest.

The menu includes the Enchilada Montada with chiltepín salsa, the Costilla de Rez with agave-glazed mesquite-smoked beef rib, and the Flan de Mesquite with macerated plums and corico crumble.

PICAChef Summer Cooking Camps for Kids and Teens

The Pacific Institute of Culinary Arts is offering week-long summer cooking camps led by professional chef-instructors.

Participants will practise knife skills, make fresh pasta, explore baking techniques, and prepare dishes influenced by different culinary traditions. Each camper receives a PICAChef apron to use during the program and take home.
