Jules Bistro Chef/Owner Emmanuel Joinville is celebrating the Parisian-inspired bar a vin’s 16th anniversary as a cornerstone of Vancouver’s culinary scene with new food and drink features now available at the beloved Gastown enclave.

Joinville and the Jules family are marking their latest milestone by introducing a new Happy Hour Menu available from 2:30 to 5:30 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays and all day on Wednesdays and Thursdays.

Open from 11:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m., Jules’ menu showcases the very best of farms, fields, and oceans courtesy of curated ‘On Board’ options including Charcuterie Platter; Cheese Platter; House Smoked (salmon, sablefish, mussels, olives, duck magret); Raw (oysters and caviar, tuna tartare, scallop sashimi); Seafood (red king prawns, Spanish lobster, octopus, langoustine); and a Chef’s Selection tasting experience of hand-picked items, including a new Vegan Board, perfect for sharing.

Authentic French classics abound on the Jules menu, with highlights that include Escargots Bourguignonne (garlic, parsley, Ricard butter); Bistro Salad (mixed greens, sundried tomatoes, candied walnuts, fried onions, bocconcini pearls, Dijon dressing); Chicken Liver Mousse (grape chutney, toasts); Moulard Duck Leg Confit (crispy coppa, salad, pine nuts); Sauternes-Marinated Foie Gras Terrine (beet chutney, mini blinis); Vanilla Crème BrûléePort-Glazed Chocolate-Chili Terrine; and many more.

Joinville began his kitchen career in 1984 in his hometown of Dijon, France as an apprentice at Chef Rene Villard’s 3-star Michelin restaurant Chateau Bourgogne, and climbed the culinary ranks to earn his own stripes as an acclaimed and well-respected chef and restaurateur prior to emigrating to Vancouver with his family in 2000 and opening Jules in 2007.
