Fleurs de Villes ARTISTE 2024 @ VanDusen Garden Event

Fleurs de Villes Inc. is thrilled to announce the Canadian West Coast premiere of Fleurs de Villes ARTISTE, a fresh floral journey of discovery celebrating the visual and performing arts through flowers at VanDusen Botanical Garden as part of the show’s global tour. Different in every city it arrives in, Fleurs de Villes ARTISTE has been presented in Bal Harbour, Costa Mesa, Chicago, Atlanta, Toronto, Quebec City and Edinburgh, with this Vancouver edition being Fleurs de Villes’ 103rd floral event in the company’s six-year history.

Showcasing the works of top local florists, Fleurs de Villes ARTISTE will be a feast of cultural storytelling celebrating the arts through floral artistry like never before. Fresh floral mannequins and spectacular installations will take visitors on a journey of discovery of the arts, from painting to sculpture, ballet to opera. Fleurs de Villes ARTISTE will consist of installations and activations to surprise, educate and delight people of all ages, abilities and backgrounds. Must-see installations include a giant painter’s palette, inspired artworks and for families, the Paint by Numbers Children’s Discovery Trail. Visitors are also encouraged to “be the art” with a selfie inside one of the giant floral picture frames installed throughout the floral exhibition.

Special food and drink offerings at the show include Aperitivo Truck, an Italian-inspired mobile bar and cafè serving beverages, tasty bites and cocktails within the event grounds. Among the special guests of the show will be Rosie Daykin, author of the new book The Side Garden, who will be a judge of the installations and will do a gardening Q&A as part of the floral programming in the Jardin Tent. Other free demonstrations hosted by florists and horticultural experts include Summer Bouquet Making, Beautiful Things With Roses, and The Taste of The Garden, hosted by executive chef Matthew Phillip of on-site Shaughnessy Restaurant. Guests can vote on their favourite installation for a chance to win a month of floral arrangements and visit the gift shop to purchase a floral memory in the form of specially designed Fleurs de Villes gardening aprons, tote bags and cards, or a fresh bouquet from the weekend flower market.
