OZ Korean Cuisine in Coquitlam has been a neighbourhood favourite around a decade, located a short walk from Lincoln Station.

The loftlike dining room has a relaxed and casual feel, making it a comfortable spot for Korean comfort food that is both satisfying and affordable.

The restaurant has a current promotion where guests spending $50 receive half an order of Original Fried Chicken on the house (value $14.50), valid for dine-in or takeout, excluding online orders.

The Daily Special Katsu Combo ($14) is an excellent deal for what you get and comes with two pieces of katsu, tenderloin, chicken, or fish, served with takoyaki, salad, miso soup, and rice.. The katsu pieces were crispy on the outside and juicy inside, while the takoyaki added a fun, savoury touch. The set felt balanced and filling, especially with the salad, miso soup, and rice.

The House Original Boneless Fried Chicken with honey mustard dip had a light, crunchy batter that held up even after a while, and the dip added just the right amount of sweetness. The meat was very juicy and tender. Their Korean fried chicken is some of the best that I’ve had in a while.

The Sweet Chili Boneless Fried Chicken brought a nice heat without overpowering the flavour of the meat.

I also enjoyed the Dduckochi, traditional fried rice cakes coated in sweet chili sauce, which were chewy and satisfying with a hint of crispness on the edges.

The Pork Bone Soup was hearty with tender meat that easily fell off the bone, while the OZ Bibimbap was a solid choice with vegetables that gave good texture contrast to the seasoned beef and fried egg. Mixing in the spicy sauce brought everything together nicely.

Overall, the food was good and reasonable for the price.
