Wine Growers Canada has introduced Come Over October nationwide, an international campaign that encourages Canadians to reconnect in person over wine. The movement, supported by Arterra Wines Canada, aims to make entertaining easier with simple hosting guides, food pairings, and approachable ideas for gathering this fall.

Launched for the first time in Canada, Come Over October arrives at a time when most wine moments already happen at home. Research shows that 78 per cent of wine servings in Canada take place in domestic settings, with 81 per cent paired with food. Younger adults aged 19 to 34 are driving the trend, with 45 per cent choosing wine in group settings and 36 per cent saving it for special occasions.
From holiday dinners to casual potlucks, Arterra’s Canadian portfolio offers a wide range of choices to suit every gathering.
Inniskillin Okanagan Cabernet Franc ($17.99) delivers ripe strawberry and plum aromas balanced by bright acidity, earthy undertones, and subtle spice. It pairs well with steak or roast beef.
Saintly The Good Red ($19.99) is a dry, fruit-forward blend with notes of cherry, raspberry, and cranberry. Its crisp finish complements lamb, osso buco, or aged cheddar.
Jackson-Triggs Proprietors’ Selection Cabernet Sauvignon ($11.99) offers black currant and cassis with a medium body that matches braised meats or game dishes.
Jackson-Triggs Proprietors’ Selection Light Pinot Grigio ($11.99) brings lower alcohol content with melon, fig, and nut aromas, an easy choice for lighter gatherings.
Bodacious Cabernet Sauvignon ($11.49) rounds out the lineup with sweet red berry and vanilla notes that work for sangria or casual evenings in.
Come Over October’s message is simple: less stress, more connection. Whether hosting Thanksgiving, Friendsgiving, or an impromptu dinner, a shared bottle can turn any get-together into a moment worth remembering.
