Yan Dining Room, Burdock & Co. and Dachi One-Night Dinner

Dachi will host a collaborative dinner on August 18 featuring chefs Eva Chin of Toronto’s Yan Dining Room, Katy Cheung of Burdock & Co., and Dachi’s own Jiwon Seo. The event, titled Short-Grain Rice Saloon, will present a multi-course menu blending Chinese and Korean culinary traditions with the communal spirit of Southern barbecue.

Short-grain rice serves as the centrepiece of the menu, highlighting its versatility in pairing with bold sauces, grilled meats, and fermented condiments. The ingredient also symbolizes cultural connection, anchoring the evening’s exploration of shared heritage and open-fire cooking.

This marks the Vancouver debut of Chef Chin’s Yan Dining Room concept, which has gained national attention since its launch in 2024. Known for its narrative-driven approach to Chinese cuisine, the series was ranked #2 on Toronto Life’s Best New Restaurants of 2025 and #43 on Post City’s Chef-Approved 50 Best Restaurants list.

The dinner will be paired with craft sake, natural wines from Dachi’s award-winning list, and rice-based cocktails, with non-alcoholic options available. Guests will be seated at a long table on Dachi’s patio, creating an atmosphere for sharing food and conversation.
