EXNW 2025 Summit Bridges Canada–Asia Storytelling in Vancouver

East by Northwest (EXNW) returns to Vancouver from July 18 to 20 for its third annual summit, amplifying global storytelling through the lens of racial equity and Canada–Asia creative exchange. Hosted by the Racial Equity Screen Office (RESO), EXNW 2025 convenes producers, creators, and industry leaders at the JW Marriott Parq Hotel and across the city for panels, pitch sessions, and cultural programming.

EXNW 2025 Summit Bridges Canada–Asia Storytelling in Vancouver

The event aims to empower racialized Canadian creatives to connect directly with influential voices from across the Asia-Pacific region, including representatives from South Korea, the Philippines, Thailand, and Singapore. Through curated sessions, EXNW explores new pathways for international collaboration, content financing, and inclusive storytelling.

Key panels include discussions on Canada–Asia co-productions, the rise of short-form vertical content, and IP navigation across borders. A special presentation from Kim’s Convenience creator Ins Choi will reflect on the impact of Asian representation in global media.

The EXNW Ball on July 19, hosted by Kevin Vidal and Kandyse McClure, will feature live performances and the presentation of the Global Connector Awards, honouring those advancing equity and innovation in entertainment.

The summit wraps with the EXNW Grand Finale at Floata Seafood Restaurant in Chinatown on July 20. The public event will include an AI and storytelling panel, Pride Month drag performances by the House of Rice, and a dim sum networking brunch. Tickets are $55 for non-passholders and available at zeffy.com.
