Granville Island Brewing – one of Canada’s first micro-breweries has unveiled a newly renovated taproom for beer lovers to enjoy.
Granville Island Brewing has significantly expanded its capacity, now able to accommodate around 200 guests, a major increase from its previous limit of 80. The addition of a sunny, dog-friendly patio not only enhances the space but also means shorter wait times and more frequent entertainment, including live music. Along with the revamped taproom, the brewery is extending its hours to provide a richer nightlife experience on Granville Island. The upgraded venue also offers a versatile space for the community to host larger events, from weddings and holiday parties to team-building activities.
The taproom has a brand new food menu specially crafted to pair with Granville Island Brewing’s lineup of beloved brews.
Here’s a look at some of the food and beer pairings we tried.
The taproom now offers flatbread pizza and we had the Smokin’ Hot with Two Rivers chorizo paired with the English Bay Ale. This sweeter ale goes well with the sweet flavours from the pizza.
Next the Crispy Pork Belly Sandwich with sliced apple, dijon & arugula on house-made focaccia is paired with the Brockton West Coast IPA. The caramelized onion jam pairs with the caramel notes of the beer.
We also had the Whipped Feta & House-Made Pita paired with the Granville Island Lager. The sweetness and bready notes from the lager pairs well with the pita and the creaminess of the feta.
The Watermelon and Feta Salad is paired with the False Creek Sour. The tangy, tart peach sour pairs well with creamy, neutral tone of the feta and sweetness of the watermelon.
Granville Island Brewing also now features a wider selection of brews on tap, and more opportunities to gather for unforgettable events and entertainment experiences.
