Gather at the 3rd Annual stɑl’əw̓ Pow Wow in Langley for an engaging Indigenous cultural experience. Everyone is welcome to attend the stɑl’əw̓ Pow Wow, one of the largest events of its kind in Metro Vancouver.
Drive, ride, or dance your way to Langley Events Centre on September 13, 14, and 15 to witness and support the intergenerational transfer of traditional songs, dances, regalia, languages, medicines, foods, and artwork. Attendees can fill their ears, eyes, bellies, and hands with curated Indigenous ways of being, knowing, and eating.
Bring yourself, some friends and family to spend a few hours, a day, or the entire weekend at the stɑl’əw̓ Pow Wow. Celebrate with the First Nation communities of qʼʷa:n̓ƛʼən̓, q̓ic̓əy̓, Máthxwi, and Se’mya’me’ who have shared and co-stewarded the lands known today as Langley since time immemorial.
Come out and witness the Orange Shirt and Red Dress Specials on September 14. Drum groups and dancers will perform, sharing their healing medicine to honour and support Residential School Warriors and Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women, Girls, and Two-spirit peoples (MMIWG2S) and their families. Indigenous visual arts will also be celebrated through the reveal of a new MMIWG2S flag design that will be used at all future stɑl’əw̓ Pow Wows.
Dance and drum competitors and vendors from all over Canada and the US will share their gifts at this family-focused event. Feel the thunder in Langley Events Centre with songs brought by the Host Drum Bad Canyon and Honorary Host Drum Black Lodge.
