Suren Restaurant, known for serving Persian cuisine in Burnaby Heights, has opened their sister concept in Vancouver.
The new concept is located at 3293 West 4th takes over the space formerly occupied by Castaway Bar & Kitchen.
Their menu features a range of bar and grill items from steaks, pastas, sandwiches, burgers, tacos to Persian specialties like Tahchin, Persian Lamb, Kabab and more.
They also have a cocktail program including Margaritas, Mojitos, Martinis and so forth.
I attended their grand opening party and here are the items we tried.
Suren Signature Tahchin
Golden-crusted persian rice cake layered with aromatic Saffron-infused chicken, marinated in yogurt and eggs, and served with shallot yogurt.
Lamb Shank
Slow-cooked lamb shank served with Fava bean rice and a house mixed pickles
Vaziri Kabab
Featuring one skewer of koobideh and one skewer of chicken kabab. Served with rice, shirazi salad.
Grilled wings and fries
Juicy chicken wings grilled and tossed in your choice of sauce: tangy BBQ, salt and pepper, or hot sauce, served with fries and home-made ranch.
Calamari
Flavourful Calamari rings and small portions of vegetables, batter and fried until crispy, accompanied by zesty chipotle sauce
Tiramisu
Coffee cake, coffee cream mousse, mascarpone cheese
Turkish Baklava Pistachio
White Peach Sangria
House white, blend of juices and fruits, peach Schnapple
Suren Strawberry Margarita
1.5oz Jose Traditional Tequila, 0.5oz Triple Sec
