VanDusen Botanical Garden transformed into a lively celebration of Japanese culture this past weekend as the Sakura Days Japan Fair returned with two full days of performances, food, and interactive experiences.

Visitors took part in traditional tea ceremonies, sampled Japanese street food and premium sake, and explored indoor and outdoor exhibits featuring taiko drumming, theatre, and woodworking demonstrations.

Local vendors offered handcrafted goods, regional snacks, and cultural workshops, drawing steady crowds throughout the garden.
Presented by the Japan Fair Association of Vancouver, the event remains a popular spring highlight of the Vancouver Cherry Blossom Festival.
Here are some photos from my experience and I look forward to the next year’s event!
