PICA talented pastry team, led by the indefatigable chef-instructors, Eulalie, Gary, and Ivy, alongside five dedicated students, recently participated in Hyatt Regency’s Gingerbread Lane contest. They are beyond proud and overjoyed to announce that their hard work, creativity, and passion paid off as they clinched the 1st place in the professional category.

What makes this victory special is that the winning submission was a stunning gingerbread rendition of the Grand Budapest Hotel, inspired by the iconic film by the esteemed director Wes Anderson. The intricate design and impeccable execution truly showcased the exceptional skills and dedication of their team. What’s even more heartening is that our efforts extend beyond the realm of culinary artistry. The Pacific Institute of Culinary Arts believes in making a positive impact on the community, and as part of their tradition, they have chosen to dedicate their success to help raise funds to support Make-A-Wish Foundation — an organization committed to granting the wishes of children facing critical illnesses. Your support, directly or indirectly, has contributed to making dreams come true for these deserving children.
