Monarca Cocina Mexicana is kicking each week off in style with the debut of new Margarita Monday and Taco Tuesday features at the South-of-the-border-inspired hotspot located at 181 Carrall St. in Vancouver’s Gastown district starting next Monday, January 16.
Every Monday starting at 4 p.m., Monarca’s Margarita Monday menu takes centre stage with a curated list of unique Margarita Doble creations that include the Monarca (Cuevo Tradicional, house Curaçao, Valencia orange, lime), $10; Picante (jalapeño-infused blanco, habanero tincture, agave, lime), $11; Lychee & Lemongrass (lemongrass-infused Cuervo Blanco, Soho lychee liqueur, lemon, lime juices), $11.50; and De Sol (400 Conejos mezcal, serrano-infused reposado, pineapple, lime), $12.50.
The Margarita Monday menu also includes specially priced food features that include:
- Tacos Campechanos (4) (grilled skirt steak, chorizo, chicharron, cheddar cheese, onion, cilantro, salsa roja), $18.75;
- Ceviche de Camaron (tiger prawns, pico de gallo, grilled Serrano pepper, cucumber, coconut lime broth), $18;
- Tacos Fritos de Pollo (3) (à la Mexicana fried chicken, sour cream, queso fresco, jalapeño salsa, cured red onion), $14.50;
- Papas con Chorizo y Salsa Verde (Yukon gold potato, house chorizo, queso Oaxaca, salsa verde, black beans, milpa tortillas), $14.50.
Taco aficionados can get their fix and mark their favourite day of the week during Taco Tuesdays, when the Monarca kitchen will debut a new rotating feature staring this Tuesday, January 17 with a Pork Belly Taco (pickled habanero, red onion, avocado crema, garlic aioli) for $6.50 each, in addition to Monarca mainstays that include the Achiote-braised Cochinita, AAA Ribeye, à la Mexicana Grilled Camarón and Roasted Vegetarianos tacos.
