Mom Bop is the hot new band in town for kids and families with several shows lined up at events and festivals in the Metro Vancouver area this summer – and with their first international appearance at Carfest in the UK in July.

A Dream Realized During Covid
At their day jobs, coworkers know these 4 women from diverse backgrounds, ages and cultures as Gemma Turner, Cherine Casillan, Jolie Rochard Chorbajian and Johanne Nadeau – but their fans know them as Sing bop, Cheer bop, Shine bop and Dance bop.
What started out as the realization of a long-held dream in Gemma’s basement in 2020 has blossomed into a budding music career in 2022 with numerous invitations to perform at festivals and events including the recent Teddy Bear Picnic Concert in Coquitlam, the upcoming Canada Together event at Canada Place on July 1 and the popular Carfest Festival in the UK in late July. This is an incredible level of interest in a very short time.

Easy Dance Moves for Kids
Curated by moms and designed for kids, what’s different about Mom Bop is how they draw their audiences in with simple lyrics and easy dance moves – and they even go out into the crowd to show everyone how to do it!.
For example, as they sing The Happy Dance with the catchy lyric “Clap your hands, do the happy dance…”, the Mom Bop dancers are grooving while Cheer bop and Dance bop go into the audience demonstrating the moves close up to small and big kids alike, creating the feeling of a big dance party.
With no formal dance training themselves, Mom Bop thinks they are onto something special with their vibe of remastered 90’s hits and intentional movement that allows even the littlest dancers to join in.
They are proud to be realizing the foursome’s core vision of promoting child and social wellness along with a positive attitude and mental and physical health.
Performing at Carfest in the UK
Mom bop is going international with an invitation to perform at the UK’s biggest family festival, Carfest, where they will be sharing the stage with popular kids acts such as YolanDa Brown and other CBeebie stars on July 23 and 24.
Mom bop will also be teaching the moves to kids and parents as part of their set.
