Las Autenticas Tacos y Tortas Ahogadas is a local family-owned purveyor of Guadalajara-style Mexican cuisine. They operate out of a commissary kitchen at 605 W 5th Ave (Lazy Gourmet building) in Vancouver which you can order from or via food delivery platforms. They also provide food onsite Brewing August (1614 West 3rd Avenue) where you can try their tasty eats with craft beer.

- Torta Ahogada (Guadalajara’s famous sandwich made from a crusty bread roll filled with pork carnitas and pickled onions “drowned” in red chile sauce and served with fresh lime wedges)
- Quesabirria (stewed Jalisco-style beef folded into a corn tortilla with melted cheese and served with a side of broth for dipping)
- Deep fried tacos filled with re-fried beans and served with warm house tomato sauce, pickled onions, cilantro
Their food feels very homestyle and delicious. We would recommend their Torta Ahogada which is a hearty sandwich which you can dip in a tasty red chile sauce.
