Glowbal and Vancouver Firefighters Expand School Meals Program

Glowbal Restaurant Group has partnered once again with Vancouver Firefighter Charities to continue the School Meals For Kids program, now entering its fourth year. The initiative provides thousands of healthy meals to students in need across Vancouver secondary schools.

Culinary teams at Glowbal, Coast, Italian Kitchen, Black + Blue, Riley’s and Five Sails prepare the meals, which are then delivered by off-duty firefighters to twelve schools, including Strathcona Elementary, Seymour Elementary, Britannia Secondary, and Vancouver Technical Secondary. Since its launch in 2021, the partnership has provided more than 23,000 meals.

The meals include dishes such as Spaghetti and Meatballs, Oven-Roasted Chicken Thighs with French Onion-Style Sauce, Chicken Salad with Herbs, and Beef Bourguignon. Costs are fully absorbed by Glowbal Restaurant Group, ensuring that the program remains free to students and families.

Beyond this initiative, Glowbal Restaurant Group has served more than 165,000 meals over the past 20 years through local partnerships with organizations such as Union Gospel Mission, Backpack Buddies, Covenant House Vancouver, Canuck Place, and the Greater Vancouver Food Bank.

Vancouver Firefighter Charities, through its long-running Snacks For Kids program, has been providing nutritious snacks and groceries to students since 2013. Supported by firefighter payroll donations and fundraising, the program works alongside Glowbal to make sure children are nourished and ready to learn.
