Boasting notes of fresh pear and ripe orchard, Glenfiddich Orchard Experiment’s golden-hued liquid is rich with crisp orchard fruit flavours that are attributed to the four-month finishing period of Glenfiddich in sweet Somerset Pomona Spirit Casks.
Evoking Fall days on orchards rich with fruit, GlenfiddichOrchard Experiment is created in collaboration with the multi-talented maverick Temperley family, founders and owners of the Somerset Brandy Cider Company, UK.Glenfiddich Orchard Experiment also marks the first time the iconic Glenfiddich and Somerset Cider Brandy Company have collaborated.
Somerset Pomona is a spirit made from a secret blend of juice and Somerset Cider Brandy, which are then married to mature in oak barrels for an additional two years.
The finished spirit is an exquisite apple spirit which graces the tables of top-ranked restaurants throughout the world.
It is these casks which were used to maturethe Glenfiddich Orchard Experiment, the latest innovation to join The Experimental Series of the world’s most awarded scotch whisky.
Since its initial launch in 2016, The Experimental Series was designed to challenge and push the conventions of the whisky industry, continually redefining the single malt scotch category and beyond.
It is this passion for innovation that paved the way for the remarkable partnership with like-minded visionaries, the Temperley family, who share the same entrepreneurial spirit.
The Orchard Experiment marks the fifth expression of The Experimental Series lineup, following its prior releases: IPA Experiment (2016), Project XX (2016), Winter Storm (2017), and Fire & Cane (2018).
Orchard Experiment is bottled at 43% ABV.
TASTING NOTES
Nose: A classic Glenfiddich with a wonderfully fresh pear fruitiness balanced with delicate oak notes.
Taste: An initial burst of ripe orchard fruits on the palate softens and develops into sweet creamy toffee, caramelized apple,and woody spice.
Finish: Long lasting sweetness.
SUGGESTED COCKTAILS
The Temperley A more sophisticated serve named after the Temperley family, the maverick makers of Somerset Pomona.
- 50ml Glenfiddich Orchard Experiment
- 10ml Manzilla sherry
- 20ml sweet vermouth
- 10ml Somerset Pomona
- 1.25ml sugar syrup
Add ingredients to a mixing glass with ice and stir. Once chilled, strain into a chilled coupette glass. Garnish with a green olive.

- 150ml fresh apple juice
Add to a tumbler filled with ice and stir.
Garnish with an apple fan and mint leaves (clap them to release the flavour).
