CHOP Steakhouse is offering Steak Masters a limited-time tasting menu available until June 7. The menu is built around the idea of tasting the mastery, with a progression of steakhouse dishes, a featured Argentinian Malbec from Zuccardi, and a warm dessert to finish.

The feature wine for the menu is Zuccardi Q Malbec from Valle De Uco, Argentina. The wine was bold and fruity, with firm tannins that worked naturally with the steak courses. I found it especially fitting with the richer beef dishes, where the wine had enough structure to hold up to the char, sauces, and savoury notes on the plate.
The dinner began with Wagyu Steak Bites, which were tender and easy to enjoy as a first course. The wasabi chive aioli added a gentle heat, while the truffle honey Dijon brought a little sweetness. It was a small but flavourful start that set the tone for the menu.

For the second course, Patatas Bravas offered crispy potatoes with spicy pimentón tomato sauce and garlic aioli. I liked the change of pace here. The dish gave the menu a savoury, spiced moment before moving into the steak courses.

The first main steak course was Charred Scallion Miso Rib Eye, served with Yukon gold mashed potatoes and seasonal vegetables. The rib eye had a rich flavour, with the miso and charred scallion adding a savoury finish. The wasabi was brushed on lightly, so it supported the beef without becoming too sharp.

The tasting continued with Bone-In New York Striploin, finished with caramelized onion demi glaze and served with Yukon gold mashed potatoes and seasonal vegetables. The striploin had a firmer texture compared with the rib eye, which made it interesting to try both cuts within the same menu. The demi glaze added a rounded, savoury note that worked well with the beef.

The final course was Banoffee Bread Pudding, served warm with bananas, vanilla whipped cream, rum caramel, and chocolate shavings. It was a comforting finish after the steak courses. The banana and caramel were the main flavours for me, with the chocolate adding a simple finishing touch.
