The time has come for Chancho Tortilleria to say goodbye to its longtime home at 560 Davie Street in preparation for its big move to its new home on Commercial Drive.
The last day of business for Chancho Yaletown will be March 26, 2023.
Over the last five years, Chancho has affirmed its status as a destination for authentic Mexican food and fresh-made tortillas using non-GMO, ancient heirloom corn procured from small farms in remote Mexican communities.
Especially during the pandemic, many locals leaned on Chancho for take-out and special occasion taco kits, offering a way to enjoy the restaurant’s crave-worthy signature eats, like slow-braised carnitas and local veggies, all made using traditional Mexican techniques.
Chancho is excited to welcome its loyal community to help give the Davie St. location one last goodbye.
Guests will have the chance to enjoy the Davie St. location’s award-winning menu and laid-back vibes over the next few weeks.
For diners stopping in to help celebrate its last weekend of operation (March 25-26), there will be prize giveaways that will be redeemable at the new Commercial Dr. location.
Chancho’s restaurant and tortilleria operations will shift to their new home at 2096 Commercial Drive, in the storied former home of the neighbourhood’s cherished Cafe Deux Soleils’.
Guests can expect the same top-notch tacos, sides, drinks, and laid-back atmosphere at the new Chancho, which is expected to open in April.
The new chapter of Chancho means much to look forward to for staff and guests, but leaving Yaletown has Co-owners Ernesto Gomez and Stephen Luscher feeling deeply grateful to the neighbourhood where the restaurant and tortilleria first put down roots.
