Burdock & Co is excited to announce their participation in the 2024 Dine Out Vancouver Festival (January 17 – February 4, 2024) Vancouver World Chef Exchange.
The flagship event, produced by Destination Vancouver, invites internationally renowned chefs to collaborate with local chefs on a once-in-a-lifetime culinary adventure. Burdock & Co’s Chef and Owner Andrea Carlson will partner with Angela Hartnett, acclaimed chef and owner of London, England’s Cafe Murano and owner of MICHELIN-starred Murano, for a decadent feast served at Burdock & Co on February 4, 2024.
One of the most anticipated events of Dine Out Vancouver Festival – Canada’s largest food and drink festival – the Vancouver World Chef Exchange is designed to share Vancouver’s culinary story with the world and bring the world’s great restaurant cities closer together by sharing ideas, experiences, and talents through collaborative dining experiences.
This year, four Vancouver MICHELIN Guide recognized chefs tapped into their international connections, inviting one peer – whether a mentor, former colleague or friend – to travel to Vancouver for this years’ series of powerhouse dinners.
Chef Andrea Carlson’s friendship with Chef Angela Hartnett was born when she was invited by Destination Vancouver to London in spring 2023 to participate in an overseas Vancouver World Chef Exchange.
Together, they designed a special menu inspired by British Columbia’s diverse landscapes, which was savoured by eager diners at Murano. Now, the connection has come full circle with Chef Angela travelling to Vancouver to cook at Burdock & Co for the 2024 Vancouver World Chef Exchange. Chef Angela will join forces with Chef Andrea and the Burdock & Co team to craft a memorable five-course feast with optional pairings of responsibly made wines.
Burdock & Co is a love letter to the Pacific Northwest, celebrating its tangle of islands, coastlines and valleys with ingredients sourced from local growers, farmers, and foragers.
The atmospheric eatery holds distinction as the first female-owned and operated restaurant in Canada to earn a MICHELIN star. Murano offers a thoughtful menu that takes a modern approach to timeless Italian flavours. Chef Angela – one of the UK’s most loved chefs and restaurateurs – has led the kitchen teams at multiple MICHELIN-starred establishments, including her own restaurant Murano.
The Vancouver World Chef Exchange event at Burdock & Co takes place on Sunday, February 4, 2024 with select seating times available from 5:00pm until late. Tickets are priced at $175, plus tax and gratuity, and are available for purchase online. Optional wine pairings are available for an additional cost.
