Vancouver Firefighter Charities and Parq Casino have opened applications for the 2025 VFC/Parq Casino Firefighter Bursary. The $5,000 award supports individuals working toward a career in firefighting by helping cover the cost of required training and certifications.
Now in its second year, the bursary is funded by Parq Casino and administered by VFC. It is awarded to an applicant who demonstrates the drive, discipline, and commitment needed to join the fire service. Last year’s recipient, Juliette Busch, used the bursary to help secure her Class 3 Driver’s Licence with air brake endorsement, along with other specialized courses.
In addition to aiding her professional development, the bursary gave Busch the flexibility to volunteer for causes aligned with her values, including serving on the BC Professional Firefighters Burn Camp Committee.
Applications are open until April 30 and can be submitted at vancouverfirefighters.ca/parq-vancouver-firefighter-bursary.
