Nightshade Now Open for Lunch and Brunch

Nightshade, Vancouver’s premiere vegan restaurant, is now open for lunch on select weekdays and for brunch on weekends.

The daytime service includes a number of large and small plates and desserts, all inspired by diverse culinary techniques and global flavours.

The menu items have been conceived by acclaimed Chef Chanthy Yen, who has returned to run the kitchen full-time.

Yen helped launch the restaurant in January 2022 before serving as Executive Chef for Prime Minister Justin Trudeau for a year.

Like the dinner offerings, Nightshade’s lunch and brunch menus are seasonally-inspired.

The spring lunch menu features Eggplant & Maitake Rendang, Spinach and Feta Strudel, and Vegetable Bhaaji, as well as a number of Cambodian dishes that pay homage to Yen’s heritage.

The brunch menu features plant-based spins on many morning favourites like Blue Corn Waffles and Oyster Mushroom Karaage; Wild Mushroom Hash spiked with Thai Basil; and the DLTC Sandwich with Delicata Squash “Bacon”.

It also includes Asian and Middle Eastern dishes like Tofu Katsu with smoked lemongrass tofu made exclusively for Nightshade by oomè; Cambodian Style Papaya and Radish Salad; and Shakshuka with Crispy Polenta and Hearty Spices.

Nightshade recently received a Michelin Bib Gourmand award which recognizes establishments that feature high-quality food at moderate prices.

Nightshade was the only vegan restaurant in Vancouver to earn the accolade.

Lunch is available Wednesday to Fridays, 11:30 am to 2:30 pm. Brunch is served Saturdays and Sundays, 10:30 am to 2:30 pm.

Nightshade’s heated patio is also now open day and night.
