LIFT Bar Grill View is a waterfront restaurant in Downtown Vancouver offering West Coast cuisine, including seafood, steaks and dishes prepared with ingredients from British Columbia and the Pacific Northwest.

The restaurant overlooks Coal Harbour, Stanley Park and the North Shore mountains, with floor-to-ceiling windows in the dining room and a rooftop patio that opens during the warmer months.

Here’s what we tried.
There were the Scallops & Pork Belly which brought together soft scallops and pieces of pork belly with some caramelization around the edges. The apple cider reduction was sweet and tart, and I liked having the fresh apple slices with the pork.

The Garlic Prawns came with plump white tiger prawns in a garlic white wine sauce, which had plenty of garlic flavour without taking over the prawns. There was quite a bit of sauce left on the plate, and I would have loved some bread for dipping.

We shared the Grilled Octopus, a larger dish served with chorizo, fire-roasted tomatoes and fingerling potatoes. The octopus was firm without being rubbery, and it had some smoky flavour from the grill. The chorizo added more spice, and the potatoes made this filling enough to share around the table. There was smoked paprika aioli on the plate, which went well with both the octopus and potatoes.

We finished with the Sticky Toffee Pudding and Semifreddo Cheesecake. The sticky toffee pudding was warm and soft with plenty of toffee sauce, and the vanilla ice cream melted into it as we ate.

The semifreddo cheesecake was my favourite of the two desserts, with a cold and creamy texture somewhere between cheesecake and ice cream. The wild berry coulis was tart, and the fresh berries and house-made granola added some contrast and crunch.
Overall, it was a nice dinner by the water with views of Coal Harbour and the mountains.
