Kinton Ramen has opened a new location at Gilmore Place in Burnaby, bringing their signature ramen bowls and Japanese side dishes to the growing neighbourhood near Gilmore Station.
The restaurant is celebrating their grand opening on February 7 with a one-day promotion offering 50% off all ramen for dine-in guests from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The new Gilmore Place restaurant offers another convenient Lower Mainland location for diners craving a warm bowl of ramen in a casual setting. The menu includes several broth styles, proteins, toppings, and Japanese appetizers that can be ordered for sharing.
What I Tried
Golden Sesame Ramen
The Golden Sesame Ramen features a rich pork broth blended with creamy white sesame paste. It is topped with seasoned ground pork, spinach, bean sprouts, scallions, a seasoned egg, chili oil, fried onion, shredded chili, and white pepper.
The sesame paste gives the broth a creamy texture and pronounced nuttiness. The ground pork makes the bowl more filling, and the chili oil added a gentle warmth without overpowering the sesame flavour. Fried onions bring a welcome crunch to each bite.
Beef Miso Ramen
The Beef Miso Ramen includes a savoury soybean paste broth and topped with beef, bamboo shoots, sweet corn, garlic oil, and scallions.
This was a hearty and comforting bowl, with sweetness from the corn balancing the saltier miso broth. The garlic oil added aroma and richness, and the bamboo shoots provided a firmer texture alongside the noodles and beef.

Gyoza
The pork Gyoza had crisp, golden bottoms with a juicy meat filling inside. They were a reliable side for sharing and worked well between the ramen.
Takoyaki
The Takoyaki were soft and savoury with a creamy centre, finished with the familiar combination of sweet and savoury sauce plus bonito flakes. They offered a richer snack to accompany the ramen.

Housemade Lemonade
The Housemade Lemonade was bright and refreshing. Their citrus flavour provided a nice contrast to the warm broths and savoury side dishes.
