Goldie’s on West 4th is a casual stop for doughnuts, pastries and seasonal desserts. The display case features a mix of cream-filled doughnuts, glazed flavours and savoury baked goods, making it easy to build a box with a little of everything.

During my visit, I tried several of their filled doughnuts, along with a summer shaved ice dessert and a selection of pastries to take home.

Cream-Filled Doughnuts
The cream-filled doughnuts came in a range of familiar and more creative flavours.

The Chocolate Cream had a rich cocoa flavour with a smooth filling. It was a simple, classic choice for anyone who prefers a chocolate dessert.
The Matcha Cream had a mild bitterness from the matcha, balanced by the sweetness of the doughnut and cream.
The Strawberry Milkshake was sweet and creamy, with a flavour that reminded me of a strawberry milk drink.
The Frosted Flakes Cereal Milk was my favourite. It had a nostalgic cereal milk flavour with a creamy filling and just enough sweetness. The cereal-inspired flavour came through clearly without becoming overly sugary.
The Triple Berry Cream was fruitier and slightly tart, which helped balance the richness of the cream.
The Lemon Earl Grey Cream combined citrus with a light tea flavour. The lemon added brightness, and the Earl Grey gave the filling a gentle floral note.



Summer Matcha Strawberry Snow
Goldie’s was serving a seasonal shaved ice dessert called the Matcha Strawberry Snow.
The dessert combined fluffy shaved ice with strawberries and matcha. The strawberries added sweetness and freshness, and the matcha brought a slightly earthy finish. It was lighter and more refreshing than the filled doughnuts, making it a good option for a warm summer day.
Take-Home Pastry Box
I put together a take-home box with a mix of savoury pastries, scones and glazed doughnuts.
The Cheese and Chives Scone was savoury with a noticeable cheese flavour and a mild onion note from the chives.
The Ham and Cheese Croissant was flaky and buttery, with a familiar savoury filling that worked well as a breakfast or afternoon snack.
The Blueberry Scone had a softer fruit flavour.
For something sweeter, the Sprinkled Glaze was a classic glazed doughnut finished with colourful sprinkles.
The Mango Passionfruit Glazed doughnut had a tropical flavour with a balance of sweetness and tartness from the passionfruit.
