Bai Bua Thai Cuisine has spent a decade serving Thai comfort dishes in East Vancouver, becoming a familiar, local favourite for Thai flavours done well. On our visit, we tried a few monthly specials.

The Crab Fried Rice arrived aromatic with visible pieces of crab folded through warm seasoned rice. The texture was light and fluffy, and the crab offered a gentle richness.

The Crab and Shrimp Roll brought a crisp exterior with a soft filling of mixed seafood, served hot right from the fryer which made the contrast between the shell and the inside work well.

The Stir Fried Thick Rice Noodle with Seafood delivered a savoury, smoky flavour. The shrimp and squid gave the dish variety while keeping the sauce light enough to let the charred flavours come through.

The Lychee Thai Tea was nicely refreshing and feaured sweet, meaty lychee. It balanced sweet fruit notes with the deeper profile of Thai tea.

To finish off, the Mango and Sticky Rice dessert features thin, hand-cut slices of mango shaped into a rose and set over warm sticky rice with coconut cream drizzled around the plate.

Bai Bua Thai Cuisine is located at 1-2443 E Hastings St, Vancouver, BC and remains a reliable stop for Thai comfort dishes.
