Honda Celebration of Light returns to Vancouver this July with a first in the event’s 33-year history: all three pyrotechnic teams are Canadian. Taking place at English Bay, the 2025 edition will highlight national pride through a trio of homegrown fireworks companies representing Yukon, Quebec, and Nova Scotia.

2025 Schedule and Participating Teams

On Saturday, July 19, Yukon’s Midnight Sun Fireworks opens the festival. Known for their community-powered approach and previous win in 2022, Midnight Sun brings energy from the North to the West Coast.

Royal Pyrotechnie from Quebec takes the spotlight on Wednesday, July 23. With decades of experience and international showcases under their belt, their return promises a carefully choreographed display.

Closing the event on Saturday, July 26, Fireworks FX of Nova Scotia will bring east coast artistry and precision to the finale.

All shows are free to attend and begin at 10 p.m., launched from barges in English Bay.

Event Highlights

The 2025 celebration goes beyond fireworks. Visitors can expect live music, a drone light show, and a performance from the Royal Canadian Air Force Snowbirds. The Honda Zone will return with food trucks, sponsor activations, and family-friendly entertainment in the lead-up to each show.

The festival’s organizers have emphasized this year’s focus on celebrating Canadian talent, community, and innovation. The 2025 edition is designed to bring people together through shared experiences and national pride.

Free public viewing is available at English Bay Beach, Sunset Beach, and Vanier Park. These areas fill quickly, and visitors are encouraged to arrive early and take transit.

For those looking for a more curated experience, ticketed viewing options include:

  • Inukshuk Point: Reserved seating with food and drink service.
  • Grandstand and VIP lounges: Elevated views and amenities at Concord Pacific’s viewing area.

Tickets range from approximately $68 to $243 depending on the package and location.

Vancouver Firefighter Charities Launch 50/50 Raffle

Vancouver Firefighter Charities (VFC) is introducing their first-ever 50/50 Raffle, with ticket sales running from July 19 to August 31. The draw will take place on September 1, and one lucky winner could take home up to $122,500. Raffle tickets are available online, priced at $10 for one, $25 for three, or $50 for ten.

Firefighters and fire trucks will be present at London Drugs (710 Granville Street), Sunset Beach, and Vanier Park during the Honda Celebration of Light on July 19, 23, and 26. Attendees can meet firefighters, enjoy live entertainment, and purchase raffle tickets on-site.

Proceeds will support VFC’s core charitable programs, including Snacks For Kids, Toys For Kids, Sports For Kids, and Lifelines For Seniors. These initiatives are largely funded through a payroll donation program supported by Vancouver Fire Rescue Services members, with nearly 85% participating.

How to Get There

Transit is recommended due to road closures and parking limitations. SkyTrain, bus, and cycling routes are all viable options, and a secure bike valet may be available. Packing essentials like water, sunscreen, and a blanket is advised. Pets should be left at home.

The event draws over a million people annually and is one of Vancouver’s most anticipated summer traditions. Updates on weather, programming, and raffles can be found on the festival’s official Instagram page.
