Toronto-founded Eva’s Original Chimneys has opened up their first BC location in White Rock.
The brand which specializes in Chimney Cake filled with soft serve and toppings is having their Grand Opening on Thursday August 8.
To celebrate, they are offering FREE OG Cones for all customers (one per customer) as well as 1/2 off any other premium cone from 5pm-9pm.
If you’re unfamiliar, Chimney Cakes are traditional Hungarian pastries that are bread-like and named after their hollow, cylindrical shape. They have a satisfying crunch on the outside and a soft, fluffy dough on the inside.
Eva’s base dough recipe includes 7 all-natural and mostly organic ingredients: unbleached flour, spring water, organic cane sugar, sunflower oil, lemon, fresh yeast and sea salt. The dough is hand-rolled out and wrapped like a ribbon around a baking dowel, and rolled in organic cane sugar. The dough is then baked until golden brown while the caramelized sugar provides a crispy crunch.
On the menu are Chimney Cones with Soft Serve; Chimney Cakes in sweet or savoury options; Sundaes with customizable toppings and sauces; as well as Ice Cream Pints. The Chimney Cone flavours can also be prepared as sundaes. They also have a vegan soft serve option.
Here’s what we tried at Eva’s White Rock.
There was the Mango Coconut Chimney Cone with a Coconut Cone, Mango Coulis, Shredded Coconut, and Dried Mango Garnish.
We also had the Berrylicious Chimney Cone with Cinnamon Sugar Cone, Berry Compote and Raspberry Coulis.
We also indulged in the Strawberry Cheesecake Sundae with the Strawberry Coulis and Cheesecake.
I also really enjoyed a simple Cinnamon Sugar Chimney Cake.
I had previously tried Eva’s when I visited Toronto so it is nice to see them expand out West.
