Sushi Mori is celebrating their 18th anniversary with a limited-time menu and dine-in promotion from April 20 to May 3. Guests who spend $30 or more receive a $10 gift certificate for a future visit.

Their special $18 anniversary menu features Wave Roll, Salmon, Tuna and Ama-Ebi Sashimi, Prawn & Yam Tempura, Brie-Cheese Karaage and Popcorn Shrimp.

The Coquitlam restaurant has refreshed their interior with updated lighting and refinished tables, keeping their signature sakura decor. The spacious dining room provides a cherry blossom backdrop for a menu of Japanese and Korean comfort dishes.
During my visit, I tried the Aburi Salmon Oshi, featuring seared salmon topped with jalapeño and salmon flakes pressed into rice. The light torching added gentle smokiness, with a little heat from the jalapeño.

The Bulgogi Bibimbap arrived sizzling in a hot stone bowl with bulgogi, assorted vegetables, rice and a sunny-side-up egg. I enjoyed the rice that crisped at the bottom of the bowl, with gochujang adding spice to each bite.

The Katsu Don featured chicken cutlet with house-made sauce and soft scrambled egg over rice. The sauce brought a mild sweetness to this comforting rice bowl.
