Joy Tea has officially opened in Richmond’s Aberdeen Square, bringing a new locally owned bubble tea brand to Richmond.
This shop specializes in fruit slushes, salted cheese drinks, and brown sugar milk teas, with grand opening promotions running throughout the opening weekend.
To celebrate the opening on July 18 and 19, the first 50 in store customers who share the promotion on social media and collect five likes will receive a complimentary Gold Pony Pendant containing 20 mg of 999 pure gold.
Customers who complete the same social media promotion can also purchase any drink on the menu for just $0.99 during the two day event.
The menu features several signature beverages. The Grape Salted Cheese Slush combines grape slush with a savoury salted cheese foam, while the Mango Pomelo Sago Slush blends sweet mango with pomelo and sago for added texture. Fans of classic bubble tea can try the Supreme Brown Sugar Bobo Milk Tea, made with brown sugar boba and fresh milk tea.
The fresh fruit selection includes the Strawberry Boom Slush, Grape Boom Slush, Grapefruit Boom Slush, and Passion Fruit Lemon.
The Salted Cheese series offers the Strawberry Salted Cheese Slush, Mango Salted Cheese Slush, and Matcha Salted Cheese, each topped with the brand’s signature cheese foam. For those who prefer a richer drink, the Supreme Brown Sugar Bobo Milk is another option.
Drinks can be customized with toppings such as brown sugar boba, crystal ball jelly, sago, or extra salted cheese foam. Customers can also choose their preferred ice and sugar levels.
My favourites were the Strawberry Boom Slush (right amount of tartness and sweetness) and Mango Pomelo Sago Slush where sweet mango was balanced by the slight citrusy bitterness of pomelo.
