Fat Mao Noodles in Vancouver’s Chinatown is a casual eatery from Chef Angus An, focusing on Thai-inspired noodle soups and Southeast Asian comfort food. This small spot on East Georgia Street runs on a walk-in basis and offers a small, focused menu that draws regulars for bold, aromatic broths and bouncy noodles of your choice. Noodle options include Shanghai Wide Noodles, Wonton Noodles, Pho Rice Noodle, Clear Rice Sheet Noodles, and Vermicelli Noodles.
One of my go-tos on the menu is the Braised Duck Noodles. It features a tender, local free range duck leg served in an aromatic soy-based broth with noodles (wide rice noodles recommended), bok choy, and Asian celery. The broth carries depth without heaviness, and the duck is fall-off-the-bone tender.

Another favourite of mine is the Roti with Curry. This Southeast Asian-style flatbread arrives crisp and flaky, served with a side of curry sauce for dipping. The sauce is rich and very delicious!

Fat Mao Noodles is located at 217 E Georgia St, Vancouver, BC.
