Abbotsford Tulip Festival Returns April 5 with New Displays

Lakeland Flowers is reopening on April 5 with the return of the Abbotsford Tulip Festival, bringing 35 acres of tulips and lupins to the Fraser Valley. Recognized as Canada’s largest tulip festival, this year’s event includes over 100 varieties of tulips and a mix of new and returning attractions.

The festival introduces several new features including four golden pathways, giant klompen (traditional Dutch shoes), and the schoenen winkel (Dutch shoe store). Returning installations include swings, pianos, canoes, bicycles, and raised viewing platforms designed for photos and field views.

Tulip season runs through April and early May, followed by a transition into peonies, lupins, meadow flowers, and lavender through June. The fields are open daily from dawn to dusk and the season will close on July 1. Tulip fields are scheduled to remain open until Mother’s Day on May 11, depending on bloom conditions.

Live piano music will be performed Thursday and Friday evenings from 6:30 pm to 8:00 pm between April 17 and May 11. Two Saturdays—April 26 and May 3—will feature live painting in the fields. Food trucks will be available on-site each day.

Tickets can be purchased online one week in advance with lower pricing for weekday visits. Online booking is strongly encouraged to guarantee entry and access to preferred time slots. For updates, visit Lakeland Flowers and follow along on their social media channels.
